Fall Fashion | My #OOTDs for the first weekend of September
I am in love with Fall, not only because the nature looks incredibly breathtaking and mysterious, but also because it means my birthday is close as well! loll!
In all seriousness, another reason why I'm always excited about the start of the fall season and specifically September are the fashion weeks. It is very inspiring to see all the new collections and the street style of the attendees, models and fashion influencers! Vancouver Fashion Week is also in the last week of September and although it's no Milan Fashion Week but it's still a great outlet for Vancouverites to ditch the denims and think more creatively about what the wear.
As the weather gets cooler, I find the style more refined and sophisticated compared to a more whimsical aesthetic that Summer reflects. I think Fall is the more mature sibling of the seasons which is conveyed through the deeper and less bright hues of nature as well as the outfits of people. The mild weather of Fall allows us to layer up our looks without the need to cover head to toe to protect ourselves against the harsh cold of the Winter. You can wear longer hems, boots, scarves and hats to create more refined look.
For the first weekend of September, I went with a more flowy look for the sunny Saturday we had in Vancouver and for the second day, I picked a summer dress and paired it with a embroiled denim jacket, to create a more balanced fall look. Check out the two looks below. Which one is your favourite?
